Lake Tahoe is a pristine lake stretching over both
California and Nevada. Because of its striking beauty, it is a draw for
year round activities and holds exciting opportunities for scuba divers along
with unique challenges for scuba diving due to its elevation. While the lake
level of Lake Tahoe varies from month to month and year to year depending upon
the snow and rainfall, its highest elevation is 6,229 feet (1899 meters) above
sea level. At this altitude, Lake Tahoe is considered a high altitude dive
and requires special high altitude scuba diving procedures. To assist
scuba divers, information on all aspects of scuba diving Lake Tahoe is given including
weather, dive sites and locations.
Be sure to check out the High Altitude Diving Book, Lake Tahoe Altitude
Diving Tables and the altitude dive tables for all altitudes.
